The tour continues with a journey through France’s wine region with a visit to the charming city of Reims and the wine cellars of Moet, a world centre for champagne production, for a champagne tasting. Day 1 & 2 Arrival in Paris
On arrival you will embark on a panoramic city tour of the centre of Paris. The world-famous Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Concorde and the magnificent Place Vendome are some of the amazing landmarks you will see while on a locally guided tour of Paris.
Day 3 Montmontre – Sacre Coeur – Night Cruise and Dinner
Perched high on a hill commanding spectacular views of the city, the beautiful Basilique du Sacre Coeur is at the heart of Montmontre, the renowned artists’ quarter. Literary and artistic references abound as you take a train ride through this picturesque district with it’s charming cafes and squares for a taste of 19th century bohemia.
In the evening you will enjoy a leisurely cruise on the River Seine through the heart of the “City of Light”. This enchanting tour takes in such sights as the Louvre, Notre Dame, Orsay Museum, The Eiffel Tower, and the Statue of Liberty. The dinner cruise allows you to savor a wide range of traditional French cuisine.
Day 4 Palace of Versailles
An excursion to the ornate 17th century Chateau de Versailles with its 70 meter long Hall of Mirrors, the king and queen luxurious apartments and the Le Notre French style park owe Versailles a universal reputation as a perfect incarnation of French classicism. The beautiful and historic gardens are a masterpiece of French landscape gardening.
Day 5 Reims – Moet et Chandon Cellars
The second half of your journey takes you through the picturesque Epernay region, famous for its vineyards and wine cellars, Gothic monuments, and battlefields. Our first stop is the ancient Roman city of Reims. The city abounds with restaurants, ritzy champagne houses, large squares, and long, tree-lined avenues. Included is a visit to the magnificent Cathedral Notre Dame de Reims. Built largely during the 13th Century this was the Cathedral for the Anointing of Kings and is a masterpiece of gothic architecture.
In the afternoon you will take a fascinating tour of the vineyards and underground cellars of Moet et Chandon. Moet is a world famous name for its delicate light champagne.
Day 6 & 7 Paris
Today you are free to explore the City on your own. Why not spend some time walking, boating or picnicking at the Bois de Boulogne, a glorious park over 2,000 acres with many gardens. Marvel at the Orsay Museum, a superb museum dedicated to painting and sculpture from the latter part of the 19th century. Or spend the day at the world famous Louvre Museum, home to the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo statue. Enjoy an evening at a Parisian Cabaret Show
The tour ends with a transfer from your hotel to the airport for your return journey home.
